Thirst For Life | An Original Poem by Miss Tee | JacanaBooks.ca

It was your aversion

That spurred me on

The little things I did

Which you never forgave

I couldn't take your condescension

Your silence, a deafening scream

It was your silence

That spurred me on

The anger in your words

We stopped talking a while back

You cringe at the truth

My tongue, a merciless snake

Your silence drew me to poetry

Your silence brought out

The friends in my head

Line upon line

Prose after prose

A poem here and there

Life became bearable

These words are meant

To help me figure out

When we died.

This void between

Us has helped me

Figure out

My thirst for life
