A video posted by Rebecca Davies, spokesperson for the Ripple Refugee Project, a Toronto based group of private citizens that sponsors, settles and helps to integrate newcomers to Canada has gone viral reaching nearly 3 million views on Twitter. The group founded in May 2015 with the goal of sponsoring refugees to come to Canada, to share lessons learned about private sponsorship and to do advocacy work around Canada's refugee response.
The 43-second clip video shows two children, a boy and a girl in big winter coats, running out into a backyard dancing in the fresh showers of snow. They are seen jumping with delight and raising their hands to catch the snow and then play kicking a little ball around. Their faces and joy tell a story of pure happiness. Prime Minister Justine Trudeau tweeted a word to thanks to Davies yesterday afternoon. His tweet reads " Amazing -now convince them that shovelling is fun and you are all set. Thank you for everything you do, Rebecca.#WelcometoCanada
